Charisse L. Nixon, PhD, is a Professor of Psychology at Penn State Behrend. Her research focuses on social–emotional learning, peer relationships, and the prevention of bullying and victimization among children and adolescents. She has published widely on bullying and resilience. Building students’ resilience is a core tenet of her work. She trains educators, caring adults, and students throughout the United States and Canada. Charisse’s work has been featured in many national venues, as well as published in dozens of peer-reviewed journals. She is the coauthor of the book Girls Wars: 12 Strategies That Will End Female Bullying.”
