Lisa-Loraine Smith is a certified social worker. She was founder and co-director of the Children's Bereavement Project (CBP), where she worked comprehensively with early adolescents in grief. A dynamic speaker, she has presented extensively at conferences and workshops on topics including bereavement, trauma, and stress. After Sept. 11, 2001, she developed the Peace of Mind Project, which was a nationally recognized program offering crisis intervention, support groups, and educational services to more than 900 young people, 500 parents, 2,500 mental health professionals, and 1,200 school personnel.
