Dr. Jody J. Fiorini

Jody J Fiorini, Ph.D., LCPC, LMHC, NCC, ACS

Dr. Jody Fiorini received her MSEd in School Counseling from SUNY Oneonta and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Syracuse University. She worked as a Counselor Educator at the State University of New York at Oswego for 15 years where she also held positions as Department Chair and Assistant Dean of the School of Education. She now works as a Counseling Professor and Head of the Intervention Services & Leadership in Education Department at Wichita State University. She is committed to social justice issues and teaches courses in disability, race, class, and gender in counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Kansas and has 20+ years of clinical experience.

Dr. Fiorini has significant multicultural training and enjoys working with a diverse clientele. Her book, Counseling Children and Adolescents Through Grief & Loss, co-authored with Dr. Jodi Mullen, received a Book of the Year Award from the American Journal of Nursing.

Dr. Fiorini’s areas of specialization include counseling individuals with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities and their family members, counseling individuals through grief and loss and relationship issues, counseling individuals with anxiety and depression, and helping clients cope with stressful life situations and transitions.
