Grades 9-12. This unique and exciting manual uses a student-driven approach to fulfill IDEA mandates. The author, a special educator with 20 years classroom experience, presents a concise, yet comprehensive program for graduation-track, special education students. The book focuses on the seven areas mandated by the 1997 reauthorized IDEA - functional assessment, daily living skills, post-school adult living, employment, community experiences, related services, and instruction. Each of the areas has a sequence of skills and behaviors written as objectives that teachers, parents, and students review for inclusion in the IEP. In addition, the IDEA specifies that schools must also include a statement of transition services for students beginning at age 14.
Includes a Win/Mac CD-ROM.
