The PEACEZONE curriculum is designed to help your school or classroom to be safe and violence free. Outcome evaluations have shown that the program increases the ability of children to promote peace, make positive decisions, avoid risk-taking behaviors, and heal from trauma and loss. The program focuses on three key concepts to achieve these goals: the innate strength and resiliency of youth; how violence, grief, and loss can play a key role in the choices children make; and the importance of life skills not only in students' school lives, but also in their homes and communities. The Teacher's Guide is divided into six teaching units. Each unit contains 4 to 5 lessons with discussion starters, games, activities, stories and project ideas. The last lesson of each unit links the topic to a community service activity.
